SPORT LIVED RUGBY ACADEMY

Want to train like a professional rugby player?

The Sport Lived Programs at the UQ Rugby Academy are designed to develop players in an environment similar to that of a professional provincial Super Rugby Academy.
Player development will occur across three major areas:
Core skills and Position Specific Skills (PSS) training – using latest skill acquisition philosophies, players will be exposed to around 3 hours per week of “on-field” training. The focus is on the individual, providing drills and feedback targeted to the development of each player
Strength and Conditioning – take advantage of the facilities and also the expert coaching that the university has to offer. Programs are again specifically designed for the individual, and encompass all areas specific for physical development for the game of rugby.
Psychological and player education – Over the duration of the program, players will be provided with information and tools that will greatly assist their development not only on the rugby field but also as an individual. Topics covered in the education program may include nutrition, leadership, injury management and prevention, and anxiety management.
The Rugby Academy program also offers balance for Sports Lived athletes, allowing appropriate free time for individuals to get out and see the many attractions that our beautiful region has to offer.
If you want to take strides in achieving your rugby goals while gaining a significant edge over your opponents, then the UQ Rugby Academy is for you.
