PRACTICAL COACHING METHODS FOR THE
VOLUNTEER RUGBY COACH

Adrian is the current HPU programs coach at the Australian Rugby Union. Adrian’s
past roles have included head coaching roles with Japanese rugby side Kyuden
Voltex and Australia A side. Adrian has also worked as the head coach and
program manager for the Queensland Academy of Sport rugby program.
Gerald is a former Springbok flyhalf. During his international rugby union career
Gerald’s composed kicking helped the Springboks to victory over the All Blacks.
Since his retirement from international rugby union Gerald has focused on working
as a kicking coach, working with many exciting young players such as Berrick
Former reds prop, Anthony Mathison, retired from playing professional rugby
union in 2007 after playing 31 games for Queensland and representing Australia
at under 21 level. After retiring Anthony made the transition to coaching and
currently works with the UQRFC as the premier grades forwards coach.
Teachers will be granted a certificate of CDP hours after completion of the course
