UQ Rugby Academy Junior Clinic
The UQ Rugby Academy (UQRA) is hosting a training camp to help your kids tackle boredom and get active over the Christmas school holidays.
The Junior Clinic offers children the opportunity to participate in skill and game based activities. Active Tribes in conjunction with the UQRA aim to create a fun and enjoyable rugby experience for new and existing players.
Aimed at kids aged 8-14, the camp focuses on game-based activities, and groups will be split according to age and ability.
13 and 14-year-olds will also have the opportunity to improve their unit and core skills such as lineouts, set piece plays and scrums.
Hosted by UQ Rugby Academy (UQRA) elite players, the Junior Clinic is to be held during the Christmas school holidays. The Clinic will run Thursday 21 January - Friday 22 January, 2010 from 8am to 3pm each day and will be based at UQ.
UQRA coach Cameron McIntosh said the camp was an ideal way to keep your children busy over the holidays.
“We’ve run the camps for the past few years and it’s been an absolute hit with the kids,” McIntosh said.
“It gives them the opportunity to have a great time over the holidays, make some new friends and really improve their level of rugby,” he said.
Morning tea and lunch will be served each day but participants will need to bring a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle.
